Showcase’s Bond-Themed Summer Event at Smithfield

By Uncategorized No Comments

On Friday, we joined forces with our friends from @Showcase PSR Portsdown and @Renovo for our annual group Showcase Summer Event.
The team arrived at Smithfields to a completely transformed surroundings – vibrant lanterns, and a dry-ice bar display. It was clear this wasn’t just another day at the office. An opportunity to mix and mingle before the days events unfolded.

The team soon discovered what the day truly had in store… a James Bond-themed mission across London!

With pub stops along the way and spy-style challenges scattered across the city, everyone brought their best Bond energy to the streets.
The day wrapped up back at Smithfields where the team enjoyed drinks and the very first run of our new Showcase Wishball: a lucky draw where a few team members walked away with a cash prize! (One of three draws we’ll be holding this year).

From undercover adventures to cocktail cheers, it was a day to remember… Our way of saying thank you for the effort, energy and hard work everyone puts in.

Here’s to a fantastic first half of the year, and an even better second half to come.

Paula Curness: Meet the Showcase Commercial Leadership Team

By Uncategorized No Comments

Over our past few posts, we’ve been shining a light on the people leading the charge behind Showcase’s new Commercial Leadership Team. We’ve heard from Will Pearce, Lina Olsson, and Peter Yarnold, and now we’re sitting down with Paula Curness, our new Head of Key Accounts.

This year, Paula celebrates her 29th year in the industry – with 11 of those spent right here at Showcase. She’s someone our clients know well, trust implicitly, and look to for guidance through every stage of a project. As one of the longest-serving members of the business, Paula’s stepping into her new role with the same warmth and energy she’s always brought. Only now, she’s also leading a growing team of account managers and supporting the wider Commercial Leadership group.

Paula, tell us a little bit about your new role!

It’s a really varied role! As Head of Key Accounts, I’m now responsible for leading the team and making sure everyone feels supported, that we’re hitting our goals, and reporting back to Estelle [Lee] and the wider SLT on how we’re doing.

I’m still very hands-on though. I wouldn’t give up my clients for the world. I’m proud to still be involved with their projects. So I’m splitting my time between leading the team and staying involved in the accounts I’ve nurtured for so long.

The Key Accounts team is all about continuity. We’re there from early on in the project, and we stay through to installation and beyond. That familiarity really matters to our clients. Will [Pearce’s] team might win the job, but I take over for install and Day 2, making sure everything runs smoothly.

What’s got you most excited as you step into this new role?

For me, it’s always been about the people. I love working with my clients, and I’m really excited to support my team in a bigger way now. Helping them grow, giving them space to succeed, and watching them gain confidence in themselves — that’s what drives me.

I’m so proud to be part of this Commercial Leadership Team. We’ve all worked together for so long that we’re more than colleagues. We’re friends, and we’ve always had each other’s backs. That’s what makes this team so strong. We know each other, we trust each other, and that bond makes everything we do more meaningful.

How do you see your role supporting Showcase’s growth and our clients’ evolving needs?

It’s all about being present for the team, the clients, and the leadership group. I need to be active in helping us grow in the right direction.

Whether it’s hiring new talent or supporting the people we’ve already got, I want to make sure we’re always evolving. Our clients rely on us to be consistent, responsive, and a step ahead. That’s exactly what I want this team to deliver.

We’ve got to stay flexible, stay close to our clients, and be ready for whatever comes next.

What’s one big focus for the next 6–12 months?

Long-term, I’d love to bring in another Key Account Manager and a support person to help expand the team. That way, we can maximise on opportunities and make sure we’re giving every project the attention it deserves.

Short-term, I’m going back to basics. I’ve got the team literally sitting around a desk and putting it together, because understanding the process from the ground up builds confidence. It sounds such a small thing, but it makes a huge difference!

We’ve got some newer members in the team, and I really want to guide them in the right direction. I respect my team so much, and I’m always thinking, “How would I want to be treated?” when it comes to communicating with them.

What’s something you’ve learned at Showcase that you’ll carry with you into this new chapter?

To be honest, I learn something new every day. But one of the biggest things I’ve learned is to just be myself. That’s never been a problem here — and it’s something I’ll keep with me in this new role.

I’ve been so lucky to work with some amazing people — Emma [Boreham], John [James], Nigel [Boreham], Estelle [Lee] — they’ve all shaped who I am today. And while I might need to be a little more “boss” than “mate” these days, I know I’ve got their support and guidance behind me. That means a lot.

And finally — what are you most excited about this year?

I’m just excited to get stuck in and do the job. We’ve already put some changes in place and the feedback’s been great — that’s really fuelling my confidence in where we’re heading.

I’m looking forward to building the team further, bringing in new business, and continuing to work with the amazing clients I’ve known for years. And honestly, I just feel really proud — of what we’re building, of the people I work with, and of the trust the business has put in me.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me. I can’t wait for what the future holds! And to Estelle, Paul, Ken, and Dave – I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and looking forward to working with them.

Peter Yarnold: Meet the Showcase Commercial Leadership Team

By Uncategorized No Comments

In our ongoing series with Showcase’s new Commercial Leadership Team, we’ve been catching up with the people helping shape what’s next, from new business to creative direction, and everything in between.

So far, we’ve heard from Will Pearce (Head of New Business) and Lina Olsson (Creative Director). Soon we’ll be hearing from our Head of Key Accounts, Paula Curness. Today, we’re catching up with Peter Yarnold, who’s stepped into the role of Head of Strategic Accounts as part of our expanding Commercial Leadership Team.

With over a decade at Showcase under his belt, Peter brings a broad, cross-sector view to client delivery and a strategic focus that helps the team see the bigger picture. His new role focuses on deepening client partnerships, especially across large-scale, multi-location accounts, and making sure we keep evolving alongside their needs.

Peter, congratulations on the new role! What does it look like day to day?

At its core, the role is about leading a new department within the Commercial team, with a real focus on strategic growth. I’m working more closely with larger corporate clients — ones that often have real estate portfolios across the UK and EMEA — and helping them understand the breadth of what Showcase can offer across different regions.
There’s also a shift toward building more structure within those relationships. We’re looking at how we can support clients with consistency across multiple sites and countries, ensuring their brand and values are reflected wherever the project happens to be. No two days are the same, and that’s the exciting part!

What are you most excited about as you step into this position?

It’s definitely the opportunity to build something new… to start a team, shape it, and grow it. It feels like a really natural progression of the work I’ve been doing over the last few years, and now there’s a real chance to formalise that into something that scales. That’s what I’m really energised by.
I’m also incredibly excited to work with the new owners and see how we’re going to shape the future of Showcase together. There’s a real sense of momentum, and I’m grateful for the trust and opportunity they’ve given me to be part of it!

How do you see this role supporting Showcase’s growth, and our clients’ needs as they change?

Over the last three years, I’ve had the chance to deliver a variety of projects through different procurement routes, across different types of businesses and locations. That’s given me a strong foundation to support clients who are working at scale, with portfolios in multiple cities or even countries.
Often those clients are looking for consistency – not just in how their spaces look, but in how their brand is experienced. We’ve been able to deliver that by staying flexible, understanding their philosophy, and translating it no matter where the site is. I think that ability to adapt, while still holding a clear strategic thread, is something clients really value, and something we’re definitely going to build on even more!

What’s a key focus for you over the next 6 to 12 months?

Growing the team. That’s the big one! I want to build something bigger that is proactively bringing ideas to the table — offering suggestions to clients early in the conversation, not just when a brief lands.

It’s about creating space to be more consultative, discussing approach and potential even before a project is formally live. That kind of foresight makes a huge difference, both for the client and for us internally.

What’s something you’ve learned at Showcase that you’ll take into the next chapter?

That flexibility and adaptability are two of Showcase’s greatest strengths. I’ve seen it time and time again over my 11 years here — the way we respond to client needs, adjust our thinking, and stay agile without ever losing sight of quality.

That mindset is something I carry with me into this new role, especially as we start looking at how to scale that same level of service across more complex, multi-site accounts. It’s not about rigid processes; it’s about thoughtful structure that still leaves room to flex.

Great! And finally, what’s something you’re personally excited about this year?

There’s a new client I’ve started working with, through an existing relationship, and they’ve got a multi-site opportunity that’s in a sector I haven’t worked in before. That’s always a bit of a buzz, stepping into something fresh, learning a new space, and seeing how we can bring value to it.

It’s a great example of how this role is evolving. The work we’re doing with strategic accounts has been developing organically over the last few years, and now it’s becoming something much more defined. We’re creating structure around it, and that’s when real growth can happen!

Lina Olsson: Meet the Showcase Commercial Leadership Team

By Uncategorized No Comments

At Showcase, everything starts with people and relationships – something that we explored in our last post with Will Pearce, who’s been leading growth as Head of New Business within our new Commercial Leadership Team which is paving the way for our future.

Now, we catch up with Lina Olsson, whose journey with Showcase spans over a decade – rising from Senior Furniture Consultant to Creative Director within the Commercial Leadership Team. Her role has evolved far beyond project delivery, encompassing the cultivation of key supplier partnerships and overseeing the development of our London HQ, the Smithfield office. Lina’s distinctive vision is instrumental in preserving Showcase’s culture, while steering the Commercial Leadership Team and the wider organisation into its next exciting chapter.

So, Lina, what’s a typical day like for you in this new role?

Honestly, it’s a bit of everything, and that’s what makes it so exciting!

I attend project meetings – leading some projects, and acting as a product specialist on others. A big part of my time is spent connecting with suppliers and building relationships within the Architecture & Design community, which I absolutely love.

Plus, I work closely with Nikki, who works front-of-house in our London office. Together, we make sure the office runs smoothly, organising pilots, managing the sample rooms, and keeping everything looking sharp and welcoming.

It’s busy, and really varied work – but it keeps me on my toes!

What’s got you most excited about stepping into this new role?

Stepping into this Creative Director role is really exciting. It feels like a natural progression and the next logical move.

I’ve always enjoyed the creative problem-solving side of this job – finding the right mix of design, function and feel. Taking on this role gives me the chance to shape how we present ourselves and how we support the design community moving forward.

I’m looking forward to working more closely with design and marketing to highlight the creative side of what we do. There’s also going to be some great opportunities to deepen our supplier relationships and explore fresh opportunities in the A&D world. Interior designers and design practices are always innovating, and I’m looking forward to continue close collaborations.

A big part of this new role will be nurturing and expanding our supplier relationships. They’re essential partners in bringing what we do to life. I’ve gotten to know our suppliers very closely over the years, and I’m excited to nurture those long-standing relationships even further, whilst welcoming new ones too!

I’m really looking forward to collaborating across the different Showcase businesses. It’s going to be great to work closer with Showcase PSR to share knowledge and cross-communicate.

Showcase is full of strong, vibrant personalities, and even as things evolve, I hope our leadership team will continue to support that.

I see massive potential for our Smithfield office. The future of Smithfield will build on those big personalities while becoming even more focused on people and connection!

How do you see your role supporting Showcase’s growth and helping meet our clients’ evolving needs?

A big part of my role is staying on top of trends and what our suppliers are up to. I want to be across what’s happening in the market and design world so I can support the team’s interpretation of client briefs and deliver exactly what the interior designers and clients expect.

We have team members from diverse backgrounds who might not have had access to the wider portfolio Showcase offers before. So, part of what I do is encourage everyone to think outside the box – it’s about mixing creativity with practical knowledge to offer something special.

What’s one key goal you’re focusing on over the next 6 to 12 months?

Finding the right balance between all my different commitments is top of the list. There’s a lot on my plate, so keeping everything aligned and manageable is crucial, for me and for the team!

What’s something you’ve learned at Showcase that you’ll carry into this next chapter?

I honestly can say I’ve never had a job where I’ve grown and learned as much as I have here. I’m still learning every single day.

What I’ll carry with me is all the knowledge I’ve gained about the business and the wider furniture industry. Nigel, John, and Estelle have been instrumental in what I have achieved to date. I sometimes feel that John’s here in spirit – sitting on my shoulder, guiding my decisions.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned in my ten years at Showcase is the value of strong, collaborative relationships. I’m excited to carry that forward as I work more closely with the owners – Estelle, Paul, Ken, and Dave. I’m really looking forward to the opportunities we’ll create together. I’m just as excited to bring that same support to the rest of the team.

Showcase is wonderfully diverse in experience and outlook, and that variety is a real strength. Once you find your home here at Showcase, there’s truly a space for you to grow.

Will Pearce: Meet the Showcase Commercial Leadership Team

By Uncategorized No Comments

Showcase Interiors has always been built on people — the relationships we nurture, the teams we grow, and the way we show up for our clients. Under the leadership of Estelle Lee, Paul Barker, Ken Robson, and David Watkins, that ethos remains central to everything we do.

Their collective experience and long-standing connection to the business bring both stability and fresh perspective — ensuring that as Showcase continues to evolve, we stay grounded in the values that have shaped us: being people-first, relationship-led, and driven by a genuine passion for delivering meaningful, high-quality work.

A key part of that evolution was the recent formation of a dedicated Commercial Leadership Team – four long-standing team members stepping into leadership roles to explore new opportunities, nurture internal talent, and shape the next era of Showcase.

Joining the new leadership journey is Will Pearce, who now takes on the role of Head of New Leadership, alongside Lina Olsson as Creative Director, Peter Yarnold as Head of Strategic Accounts, and Paula Curness as Head of Key Accounts. Will’s own journey with Showcase began nearly a decade ago. Starting as Project Support, he quickly earned new responsibilities, progressing through roles as Project Associate, then Project Director, and now stepping into this new chapter as part of the Commercial Leadership Team.

We sat down with Will to talk about his new role, the mindset shift that comes with it, and how the Commercial Leadership Team is setting the foundation for Showcase’s next chapter.

Let’s start with the role – what does being Head of New Business actually look like day to day?
It’s a bit of a balancing act, honestly. One half is understanding the team and what they’re working on – knowing which projects are active, where the pinch points are, and making sure people have the right support around them. It’s about distributing workload so no one’s stretched too thin.

Then there’s the new business side – keeping an eye on what’s coming down the pipeline, spotting opportunities early, and making sure we’re doing everything we can to bring in work that fits. It’s a broader lens than I had before. I used to be focused just on the projects I was directly running. Now, it’s about the full picture.

What’s been the most exciting part of stepping into this role?
It’s definitely the chance to help shape something fresh. Showcase has always been great at listening, but now with the CLT – four of us who’ve all been here a long time – we’re more embedded. We’re physically present in the office, in the work, and that makes the feedback loop much quicker.

There’s a real opportunity to inject some new energy into the place. I don’t mean reinventing the wheel – just evolving what we already do well, and making space for different voices, especially from the next generation in the business.

How does this all feed into Showcase’s bigger picture – our clients, our growth?
It starts with structure. We’re growing – and growth without structure doesn’t work. The idea is to build a team setup that scales, that gives people the right guidance and mentorship so they’re not left figuring things out solo.

If we get that right, it pays off for the client too. Because instead of one person stretched across five jobs, you’ve got a stronger team, with the time and knowledge to do things properly. It also allows us to really hone in on training. There’s always going to be knowledge gaps – nobody knows everything! But when they crop up, we want to fill it, to make sure our team are ahead of the curve.

You’ve been at Showcase for almost a decade. What’s something from that journey you’re carrying forward into this next chapter?

That people who want to grow, will grow. I joined as Project Support. Moved through to Project Associate, then Director, and now Head of New Business. I’ve seen first-hand how Showcase backs people who are driven.

I want to keep that going. Spotting people’s strengths, helping them shift into roles that really suit them – even if it’s a different side of the business. Sometimes someone’s skillset is just waiting for the right space to shine. Creating more of those spaces is a big part of what this role is about for me.

And what’s the focus for the next 6 to 12 months? What’s the headline goal?

Short term, it’s building support structures – making sure the team feels backed and continues developing. Long term, it’s about scale. Growing the team, tapping into new sectors, exploring new client relationships. We’ve already seen it happen. What started as a few conversations between the four of us – myself, Lina, Peter and Paula – is now a strategy. We’re starting to see how our different teams can overlap, support each other, and pull in the same direction. The goal is to take the company from where it is now to where we know it can go, and beyond.

Just one more question: what are you excited about this year?
The unknown, to be honest. It’s exciting, and a little bit scary, not knowing exactly what’s around the corner. But we’ve got an amazing group of people here. They’re talented, they care, and we’ve all got a shared vision.

I’m excited to be working alongside Estelle, Paul, Ken, and Dave – the showcase owners. We’ve known each other for a long time and I’m looking forward to future landscapes and achieving new things alongside them!

That shared experience, that mutual respect – it makes a big difference. We’re not just leading new business. We’re building a culture. I think that’s something worth getting out of bed for!

International Women’s Day 2025: Accelerating Action at Showcase Interiors

By Uncategorized No Comments

This International Women’s Day, Showcase Interiors supports the global theme #AccelerateAction.

Showcase Interiors are proud to stand in support of all genders, sexualities, abilities, and backgrounds, recognising the daily injustices and challenges that minority groups continue to face in the workplace.

In acknowledgement of the history of inequality and discrimination that so many have experienced and continue to experience on this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the progress we’ve made while remaining committed to doing more.

We recognise that change starts with us. Our aim is to ensure that women not only feel safe and supported within our workplace but are also given the opportunity to truly thrive and flourish. We are equally committed to actively encouraging others in our industry to do the same.

Reflecting on Showcase Interiors’ commitment to advancing gender equality and the theme of #AccelerateAction, Showcase Interiors’ HR Manager Clare McGlone shares her thoughts on how we can continue to drive meaningful change within our workplace:

“Creating an inclusive and equitable workplace means fostering opportunities for all, challenging biases, and ensuring every voice is heard. At Showcase, we are committed to real change that empower everyone to thrive. True gender equality goes beyond policies – it’s about everyday actions. From fostering inclusive leadership to ensuring equal opportunities, we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can succeed.”

We remain committed to continuously reviewing and setting new goals to advance our policies in support of the safety and wellbeing of our team – taking sincere consideration of, but not limited to, gender equality. Here are some of the ways we’re striving to make a positive difference for our team:

1. Pay Equity
Fair compensation is fundamental to equality. To ensure women are paid fairly for their work, Showcase Interiors regularly conduct pay equity audits. This ensures that all employees – regardless of gender – are valued and compensated in a consistent and equitable manner.

2. Flexible Work Arrangements
Women often shoulder a disproportionate burden of caregiving responsibilities, which can make it challenging to balance work and family life. Showcase Interiors offers flexible work arrangements, including flexible hours, to help our staff better manage these demands.
At Showcase Interiors, we actively promote the necessity to disconnect from work at the end of the shift. This simple practice aids a healthy work-life balance and ensures that all of our employees can enjoy quality time with their families and loved ones. It’s a fundamental right that is often overlooked, but one we believe is crucial to overall well-being.

3. Leadership Development
We are deeply committed to supporting the career growth and advancement of women at Showcase. Through leadership development programmes, mentorship opportunities, and networking events, we help women take on leadership roles and further their careers.

4. Encouraging Male Allies in the Workplace
All male colleagues at Showcase play a vital role in creating an environment where women feel safe, respected, and valued. It’s essential that everyone in the workplace actively contributes to ensuring equality for all.

5. Menopause Training and Awareness Talks
We take health and well-being seriously at Showcase, offering menopause training and awareness talks on relevant health topics, such as breast cancer. Our menopause champions regularly assess and monitor workplace accommodations to ensure that those experiencing menopause or peri-menopause can continue to perform at their best. This includes offering flexible working hours, remote working options, desk fans, relaxing the dress code, and more.

For individuals who menstruate, we have implemented a ‘black cardigan’ policy across all of our offices, ensuring that staff members can discreetly cover up if necessary. Additionally, we provide contact information for designated individuals who are available to offer sanitary products to staff in need, with complete confidentiality and without any questions asked.

6. Promote Fair Hiring Processes
We are committed to promoting equal opportunities by ensuring that our hiring practices are free from bias. By proactively recruiting diverse candidates and holding ourselves accountable, we are helping to create a more inclusive workplace for all.

7. Workforce Gender Ratio
Showcase Interiors is proud to report that our gender split is currently 50/50, a significant achievement that many organisations strive to reach. This reflects our ongoing commitment to gender equality in the workplace.

8. Staying Educated on Women’s Rights in the Workplace
At Showcase Interiors, we prioritise staying educated and informed on women’s rights in the workplace. We believe ongoing learning and awareness are essential to promoting equality and ensuring we provide strong support for our female staff.

This International Women’s Day, let us continue to #AccelerateAction – not only through words, but through the actions we take to create a safer, more inclusive, and equitable world for women, both in the workplace and beyond.
